The Sancta community congratulates the Honourable Justice Natalie Adams (FR 1984) on her appointment as Judge of Appeal and Chief Judge of the Common Law Division in the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

Justice Adams will formally assume the roles in February 2026, becoming the first woman to hold the position of Chief Judge at Common Law.
A proud alumna who grew up in Narrandera in regional NSW, Justice Adams has served on the Supreme Court of New South Wales since 2016 and previously worked with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Legal Aid Commission, and the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office. She also served as NSW Crown Advocate from 2011.
She will succeed the Honourable Justice Ian Harrison, who has completed 18 years of distinguished service.
We warmly congratulate Justice Adams on this exceptional appointment and celebrate her continued contribution to the legal profession and the people of NSW.
